Can't see your model listed? Use a similar earbud model with the same skin type for the basic technique. Case shapes and cut-outs differ: always use a skin made for your exact generation. Do not wet-fit earbuds or charging cases.

Before you start

Confirm the generation

Check the exact QuietComfort Earbuds model on your order. A shared range name does not mean all pieces have the same fit.

Clean and dry

Disconnect charging and follow Bose's surface-care advice. Keep moisture away from contacts and openings, and let fitting surfaces dry.

Prepare the pieces

Use clean hands and good lighting. Keep small, unused sections on the backing until their turn in the tutorial.

Fitting your QuietComfort Earbuds skins

  1. Match each piece

Compare the intended perimeter and cut-outs before pressing. Do not stretch a piece to make it reach an opening.

  2. Smooth progressively

Follow the backing-removal method shown and avoid repeatedly touching or pulling the adhesive.

  3. Finish curves carefully

Follow the supplied method for shaped areas. Do not use a heat gun or overheat the earbuds or case.

  4. Check normal operation

Keep contacts, ports, microphones, sound outlets and sensors clear. Check that the lid closes and the earbuds seat without force.

Installation questions

Is this a guide for QuietComfort headphones?

No. This tutorial is for the named earbuds and their supplied exterior skin pieces, not over-ear headphones.

What if the case will not close freely?

Stop and check the piece and its alignment. Do not force the lid or trim the skin on the case; send us a photo.
