How to apply a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer skin
Dyson Supersonic hair dryer skin installation video
Follow our Supersonic fitting tutorial for the intended exterior panels. Check the exact model and pieces in your order before beginning.
Before you start
Confirm the model
Check your exact Supersonic model and the supported surfaces on your order. Leave unused pieces on the backing.
Prepare safely
Unplug from the mains and allow the appliance to cool fully. Follow Dyson's cleaning instructions and let fitting surfaces dry.
Check airflow areas
Identify the filter, air inlet, outlet and controls before fitting. Use a clean, stable workspace and good lighting.
Fitting your Supersonic skin
-
Match each exterior panel
Compare all edges and functional openings before pressing. Do not stretch a panel into an area it is not designed to cover.
-
Apply progressively
Follow the backing-removal method shown and smooth gradually. Avoid repeatedly handling or pulling the adhesive.
-
Finish without powering on
Keep the appliance unplugged throughout fitting. Do not run it to warm the vinyl or trim a skin while it is attached.
-
Inspect before use
Check every inlet, outlet, filter, control and attachment connection. Do not use the dryer if a skin obstructs airflow or catches a moving part.
Installation questions
Can the skin cover the filter or air outlet?
No. Fit only the intended exterior panels and leave the complete airflow path and filter access unobstructed.
What if a panel does not match?
Stop and check the model and orientation. Keep the appliance unplugged and send us photos rather than stretching or cutting the skin.
