Apple uses a soft-touch material on the Magic Keyboard. This surface may mark or lift if a vinyl skin is removed too quickly. Always remove the skin slowly and carefully, warming the vinyl gently first if required. XtremeSkins cannot be held responsible for damage caused during removal. Use at your own risk. If adhesive residue remains, gently wipe the area with a microfibre cloth and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol.
Trackpad coverage
Will a skin affect the Magic Keyboard trackpad?
The vinyl is ultra-thin, so normal trackpad operation should remain unchanged.
Because the vinyl sits directly over the trackpad surface, the texture will feel different from the original Apple finish depending on the material you choose.
If you prefer the original trackpad feel, simply leave that section unskinned and customise the surrounding body instead.
