Can't see your model listed? Use a similar laptop with the same skin type for the basic method. Shapes and cut-outs may differ: always use the correct model-specific skin. Do not wet-fit laptops.

Before you start

Confirm the 2-in-1

Check the full model description, not just 7390 or XPS 13. Match the selected panels to your order.

Clean and dry

Shut down and unplug the device. Follow Dell's cleaning advice and keep moisture away from openings.

Prepare to fit

Use a stable, clean workspace and good lighting. Keep unused panels on the backing and the supplied instructions nearby.

Fitting your XPS 13 2-in-1 skin

  1. Check each perimeter

Compare all edges and openings before firm pressure. Do not stretch a panel into position.

  2. Apply progressively

Follow the backing-removal method shown. Smooth gradually across each intended surface without trapping folds.

  3. Keep moving parts clear

Leave hinges, vents, feet, ports, speakers and keyboard openings unobstructed. Do not bridge a moving seam.

  4. Inspect clearances

Check that the skin does not catch during normal movement. Do not force the hinge or trim vinyl on the device.

Installation questions

Can I use a standard XPS 13 skin?

Use a skin specifically listed for your 2-in-1 model. Similar names or fitting methods do not establish matching panels.

What about bubbles or lifting?

Avoid pins and heavy pressure. Read our fitting troubleshooting guide.
