Can't see your model listed? A similar laptop with the same skin type can demonstrate the basic technique. Panel shapes and cut-outs may differ: always use the skin made for your exact model. Do not wet-fit laptops.

Before you start

Confirm 9500

Check the exact XPS model, not just the 15-inch screen size. Identify the lid, base and any additional coverage supplied.

Clean and dry

Shut down and unplug the laptop. Follow Dell's surface-care advice and let surfaces dry, keeping moisture out of openings.

Make room to work

Use a clean, stable surface, dry hands and good lighting. Keep the video and supplied instructions nearby.

Fitting your XPS 15 9500 skin

  1. Compare the whole perimeter

Check all edges and any logo cut-out before firm pressure. Do not stretch vinyl to compensate for an alignment error.

  2. Smooth progressively

Follow the backing-removal method shown. Work gradually across each intended panel without trapping folds.

  3. Check extra pieces

Leave feet, vents, hinges, ports, speakers and keyboard openings clear. Fit only the panels supplied for your coverage.

  4. Inspect before use

Check edges and moving clearances. Do not trim the skin while it is on the laptop.

Installation questions

Can I use an older XPS 15 skin?

Only use a skin whose listed compatibility includes your exact model. A similar fitting method does not establish matching dimensions.

What about bubbles or lifting?

Avoid pins and heavy pressure. Read our troubleshooting guide.
