Can't see your model listed? Use a similar laptop with the same skin type for the basic method. Sizes, panel shapes and openings may differ: always use the skin made for your exact model. Do not wet-fit this device.

Before you start

Check model and size

Match Surface Book 2 and the screen size to your order. Identify each piece without removing its backing.

Prepare the surfaces

Shut down and unplug the device. Follow Microsoft's cleaning and handling guidance and allow surfaces to dry fully.

Plan your workspace

Use a clean, stable surface and good lighting. Follow the supplied instructions for the panels in your order.

Fitting your Surface Book 2 skin

  1. Check the full alignment

Compare outer edges and cut-outs before pressing. Do not stretch the vinyl to make a panel reach.

  2. Smooth gradually

Follow the backing-removal method shown and work progressively across each intended surface.

  3. Keep connections clear

Leave hinges, connectors, ventilation, feet, ports, keys and functional openings unobstructed.

  4. Inspect moving parts

Check that panels do not catch during normal movement. Do not force a connection or trim vinyl on the device.

Installation questions

Are the different Surface Book sizes interchangeable?

Use a skin made for the exact generation and size specified on your order. A shared fitting method does not establish the same fit.

What about bubbles or lifting?
