Can't see your model listed? Use a similar device with the same skin type for the basic technique. Panel shapes and cut-outs may differ: always use a skin made for your exact model. Do not wet-fit a Surface device.

Before you start

Check Surface Go

Confirm the model and generation on your order. Identify the intended panel positions and keep unused pieces on the backing.

Clean and dry

Shut down and disconnect power. Follow Microsoft's surface-care advice, keep moisture out of openings and let surfaces dry.

Prepare to fit

Use a clean, stable surface, dry hands and good lighting. Follow the supplied instructions for your selected coverage.

Fitting your Surface Go skin

  1. Check each perimeter

Compare camera and edge alignment before pressing firmly. Do not stretch vinyl to compensate for a misplaced cut-out.

  2. Smooth progressively

Use the backing-removal method shown, fitting each intended exterior piece separately.

  3. Respect moving sections

Do not bridge the kickstand seam or hinge. Keep ports, contacts, speakers and other functional openings clear.

  4. Inspect clearances

Check that the stand and attachments move or connect without catching. Do not trim vinyl while attached to the device.
