Can't see your model listed? A similar headphone model with the same skin type can show the basic technique. Shapes and cut-outs may differ: always use a skin made for your exact headphones. Do not wet-fit headphones.

Before you start

Check Y50BT

Match the model and selected sections to your order. Identify the intended position of every piece before peeling.

Clean and dry

Turn off and unplug the headphones. Follow the manufacturer's cleaning advice, keeping moisture away from openings and cushions.

Set up to fit

Use clean hands and good lighting. Leave unused pieces on the backing and keep the supplied instructions nearby.

Fitting your AKG Y50BT skin

  1. Check the cup alignment

Compare the whole perimeter and any cut-outs before pressing firmly. Do not stretch vinyl to correct the position.

  2. Smooth progressively

Follow the backing-removal method shown and work a section at a time without repeatedly pulling the adhesive.

  3. Finish shaped areas

Use gentle hairdryer warmth only where instructed. Do not use a heat gun or overheat the headphones.

  4. Inspect clearances

Keep controls, ports, microphones, cushions and acoustic openings clear. Check moving and adjustable parts without forcing them.
