Can't see your model listed? Use a similar controller with the same skin type for the basic fitting method. Shapes and cut-outs may differ, so always use a skin made for your exact controller. Clear skins require separate instructions.

Before you start

Check your controller

Match the exact controller version and coverage to your order. Identify each intended piece and leave unused sections on the backing.

Clean and dry

Switch off and unplug the controller. Follow the manufacturer's cleaning advice and keep moisture away from controls and openings.

Set yourself up

Use clean, dry hands and a stable workspace. Watch the video first with your supplied instructions nearby.

Fitting your Xbox controller skin

Use the video for exact positioning and order.

  1. Align the cut-outs

Compare the stick and button openings before pressing. Do not stretch a piece to make a cut-out reach.

  2. Apply gradually

Follow the backing-removal method shown and smooth progressively without repeatedly pulling the adhesive.

  3. Take care on grips

Use gentle hairdryer warmth only where instructed around curves. Do not use a heat gun or overheat the controller.

  4. Check free movement

Keep sticks, triggers, buttons and ports unobstructed. Stop if a skin edge catches a moving control.

Installation questions

What if the skin catches a button?
