Beats headphones / Model finder
Keep the name.
Not just the nickname.
Solo3, Studio3 Wireless and Studio Pro each have their own skin listing. Find out which pair you own before choosing a finish.

1. Start with the original product information
Read the full name on the box label or your original order. Keep the generation and any “Pro” wording. “Beats Studio” in a second-hand advert is not specific enough to decide between a Studio3 and a Studio Pro skin.
Check that the box belongs to the headphones in front of you. A replacement carry case, a colour name or an accessory receipt can send you in the wrong direction.
2. Read the connected device’s information
For supported models such as Studio Pro, Apple documents these routes after connecting your Beats:
- iPhone or iPad: open Settings and tap the Beats name near the top.
- Mac: open System Settings and select the Beats name in the sidebar.
- Android: open the Beats app; use My Beats if the connected device is not already displayed.
Read the model information, not only the editable device name. Apple’s Beats information guide describes the supported models and software versions.
3. Inspect accessible markings without taking them apart
Read any accessible product text in good light. Do not pull off cushions, peel glued padding or force a hinge just to look for a number.
For Studio Pro, Apple places the serial number on the slider above the right ear cup when the headband is extended. The serial can also be on the original packaging or receipt. See Apple’s illustrated serial-number guide.
A serial number identifies the individual unit; it is not the product name to select in our shop. If it is your only readable identifier, use official support to establish the model. Keep the serial private rather than posting it in a public photo.
Solo3, Studio3 and Studio Pro: useful checks
The most useful answer is the confirmed model name. Hardware details can support that answer, but no single port, colour or feature should overrule it.
| Model to confirm | Supporting detail — not a stand-alone identification test |
|---|---|
| Solo3 Wireless | Apple’s Solo3 setup guide specifies micro-USB charging. Confirm the Solo3 name; a micro-USB port alone is not unique to this model. |
| Studio3 Wireless | The manufacturer’s support page identifies this model as Studio3 Wireless and describes its Pure Adaptive Noise Cancelling. Noise cancelling alone does not distinguish every Beats model. |
| Studio Pro | Beats documents USB-C charging and USB-C audio for Studio Pro. Confirm the Studio Pro name rather than treating every USB-C Beats headphone as the same product. |

Choose the matching Beats skin
These are our three dedicated listings covered by this guide. The images show XtremeSkins catalogue renders with Black Carbon skins, not the original factory finishes, and they are not shown to scale.

Do not swap Solo3, Studio3 and Studio Pro pieces between listings. A similar-looking ear cup does not establish the fit of the headband, cup or outer-ring sections.
Avoid these common name mix-ups
Solo3 is not Solo4 or Solo Pro. Keep the complete name when selecting accessories. Studio Pro is not Studio3 Wireless, and Studio Buds should not send you to an over-ear headphone skin.
Check the headphone selector if your model is outside the three listed here. Do not order the closest-looking option when there is no exact match.
Check the condition and the selected coverage
Tell us if your headphones have replacement outer shells, decorative covers or other exterior modifications. Identifying the original model does not verify the dimensions of an aftermarket part.
Choose the actual pieces shown in your product options. A render showing several areas does not mean every individual Custom selection includes all of them. Our Beats skins buying guide covers the next step: finishes, available sections and customisation.
Before fitting, find the relevant video in our installation guide selector. Keep cushions, controls, ports and microphone openings clear, and stop if a piece does not align rather than stretching it to suit a different model.
Still unsure which Beats you have?
Email info@xtremeskins.co.uk before ordering. Send the full name you have found, an overall photo and a close-up of the ports or accessible model text. Hide serial numbers and personal details in the images.
We would rather help you check first than have you unwrap a beautifully chosen skin for a completely different pair of headphones.
Beats identification questions
Can I identify my headphones from their Bluetooth name?
Treat the displayed name as a starting point, not final proof. Look for model information or check the original product label, especially if the device has been renamed.
Do I need to remove the ear cushions?
Start with the original box, order, supported device information and accessible markings. Do not dismantle the headphones just to choose a skin. Use manufacturer support when the model is still unclear.
Will a Studio3 skin fit Studio Pro?
Use the dedicated Studio Pro listing. We provide separate products for Solo3, Studio3 Wireless and Studio Pro; do not assume their pieces are interchangeable.
My Beats are a different model. What should I order?
Check the headphone selector for an exact match or contact us first. This guide does not imply that skins are available for every Beats model.
