Choose the right skin.
A small letter or an extra word can point to a completely different product. Here is how to check your phone before choosing its next finish.
This guide is about identifying the handset you already own, not choosing between phone specifications. Once you know its exact name, picking a precision-cut skin becomes much simpler.

1. Find the actual model information
Google's official device identification guide confirms that your phone's model is available in About phone. Open the Model entry where your software offers one and note the full wording.
For choosing a skin, you need the product name, such as Pixel 8 Pro, rather than just “Google Pixel”. Keep any manufacturer model code alongside it when asking for help. A model code and an individual phone's serial number or IMEI are not interchangeable.
Do not select a product from the year you bought the phone. A handset bought this year could belong to an earlier generation, and a refurbished phone may arrive with a description that is less precise than you need.
2. Keep personal information out of screenshots
If you ask us to check a model, send the model name and, where needed, the manufacturer model code. We do not need your phone number, IMEI, serial number, account email or passwords to recommend the correct skin listing.
Crop the screenshot to the relevant model information before sending it. A clear model name is more useful than a full screen of private details.
Cannot turn the phone on?
Check the model stated on the original box, receipt or retailer order, making sure the paperwork belongs to that handset. Google also provides a Your Devices route in its identification guide for supported registered devices.
With a second-hand phone, ask the seller to confirm the full model name. Treat a loose box, a marketplace title or a photograph as supporting evidence rather than a guaranteed match.
You do not need to open the phone or remove any display layers to identify it. If the name remains uncertain, contact us before ordering rather than choosing the closest-looking product.
The camera bar is a clue. The complete model name is the starting point.
3. Keep every part of the Pixel name

These examples explain the names, not cross-model compatibility. A shared family name, display size or camera count is not enough to confirm that two skins fit the same way.
For example, Pixel 8 skins, Pixel 8 Pro skins and Pixel 8a skins have separate product listings. Start with the one that matches your phone, even if you plan to choose the same finish.
Be especially careful with Fold names
The original Pixel Fold has its own listing. Our Pixel 9 Pro Fold product uses the older URL google-pixel-pro-fold-skins, but its product title specifies Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Read the full title, not just the last part of a web address. A Pro Fold is not a folding configuration of a standard Pro skin, and a screen option does not turn exterior vinyl into an inner-display protector.
4. Check the product as well as the phone
After opening the matching listing, review the coverage in its customiser. Back, Top, Bottom, Camera, Sides, Accent and Screen are not offered on every model.
The Accent option on our Pixel phone skins refers to the G-logo detail, not another name for the camera area. Full Colour and Custom describe finish choices; they do not change which phone a template is made for.
Also distinguish a skin applied directly to the phone from a CustomX case or a skin designed for that case. The fitting surface is different, even when the handset name matches.
For an imported handset, retain the complete model code and check any regional notes before choosing side coverage. If a listing does not answer your fit question, ask us rather than assuming a universal fit.

For earlier models, start with the full Pixel selector. An old fitting video or a similar-looking phone does not mean we currently sell a skin for every Pixel ever made.
Pixel identification FAQs
Does the storage capacity tell me which skin to buy?
No. Start with the complete handset model name. Storage capacity is not a replacement for the standard, a-series, Pro, Pro XL or Fold distinction.
Can I order by the colour of the phone?
No. A colour name alone is not a model identifier. Confirm the model information first, then select a finish for its dedicated skin.
What should I send for fitting advice?
The exact model name, any relevant manufacturer model code and the product you are considering. Remove personal device identifiers from screenshots.
What if my Pixel is not in the selector?
Contact us before ordering. Do not substitute a skin for the next number up or another member of the same family.
