Know the iPad.
Choose the right fit.
The screen size is a starting point, not the whole model name. Here is how to identify your tablet before ordering its next finish.
For a skin, “an 11-inch iPad” is not enough information. Keep the family, size and generation or chip name together. That gives you a much better starting point than the year you bought it, the colour of the back or the case currently attached.
Write down the complete name
A useful note looks like iPad Air 11-inch (M3) or iPad Pro 11-inch (M4). Retain the A-number alongside it if the shop listing needs clarification.
Do not replace a generation with a purchase year. A refurbished tablet bought recently may belong to an earlier range, and an older product can remain on sale after a newer version appears.
Storage capacity and colour do not replace the model information. Where a product offers different cellular or Wi-Fi fitting choices, check those too rather than assuming the main name answers every coverage question.
What if the iPad will not turn on?
Look for model information on the device or its original packaging, and check the receipt. Confirm that any box belongs to that particular tablet, especially with a second-hand purchase. Apple's identification page shows the model-number routes available for different devices.
Do not scrape lettering, insert tools into openings or remove parts just to identify an iPad. Contact us with the information you can read safely before choosing a substitute.
Choose the right family
iPad Pro: keep the size and generation
Use the complete Pro name. The 11-inch M4, 13-inch M4 and earlier 12.9-inch listings are separate products. Our iPad Pro skin guide explains how to compare the listed options.
iPad Air: keep both the size and chip or generation
For example, choose Air 11-inch M3 skins for that named model, or Air 13-inch M3 skins for the larger M3 model. Do not swap in an Air M2 or earlier 10.9-inch listing without an explicit fit confirmation.
Standard iPad: do not add Air or Pro
The iPad 11-inch A16 has its own listing. A shared size description does not make it an iPad Air or iPad Pro skin. Use the complete model name shown in your device information.
iPad mini or a model not shown in the selector
Identify the tablet using Apple's list, then check our current selector. The identification guide covers how to recognise an iPad; it does not mean we sell a skin for every model Apple has made. Ask us rather than ordering the closest size.
Identify the tablet, the keyboard and the Pencil separately.
Your keyboard has its own identity
A keyboard that works with your iPad still needs a skin cut for that keyboard's actual body. An older Magic Keyboard, a newer Pro keyboard and a Smart Keyboard Folio should not be treated as one product.

Check the Apple Pencil independently too
Choose a skin for the Pencil you own, not the Pencil you assume came with the tablet. Our Apple Pencil model guide distinguishes Pro, second generation, first generation and USB-C, then points to the models in our Pencil skin range.
A matching colour scheme does not establish electrical or mechanical compatibility between accessories. Check Apple's requirements for the actual devices.
Before you add the skin to your basket
Match the product title to your model, review the available coverage and inspect the selected configuration. A Back option is not automatically a screen protector; a keyboard Body option is not a skin for the tablet underneath it.
If you need help, send the model name, relevant A-number and the product you are considering. We do not need your serial number, IMEI, account details or passwords. Crop screenshots to keep that information private.
Identification questions
The Model Number starts with a different letter. Is that wrong?
You may be looking at the part number. Tap that value in Settings → General → About to display the A-number, following Apple's instructions linked above.
Can I order by the size written on my case?
Use the device's actual model information first. A case label may describe several compatible devices without identifying the exact tablet inside it.
Can two compatible iPads use the same skin?
Only rely on an explicit fit statement for the product you are ordering. Shared accessories or similar dimensions are not enough to establish identical skin coverage.
