Can't see your model listed? A similar dual-screen device with the same skin type can demonstrate the basic method. Exterior panels and cut-outs can differ: always use the skin made for your exact model. Do not wet-fit or apply exterior vinyl to a display or hinge mechanism.

Before you start

Check original Surface Duo

Confirm the model on your order, not Surface Duo 2. Identify each exterior panel and its orientation.

Clean and dry

Switch off and unplug the device. Follow Microsoft's cleaning advice, avoid moisture in openings and allow surfaces to dry.

Prepare your workspace

Use clean hands and a stable, well-lit surface. Leave unused pieces on the backing and follow the supplied instructions.

Fitting your Surface Duo skin

  1. Check the panel edges

Compare the whole perimeter before pressing firmly. Do not stretch vinyl across a gap or moving section.

  2. Fit each piece gradually

Follow the backing-removal method shown and smooth progressively without repeatedly pulling the adhesive.

  3. Finish narrow areas carefully

Use only the method shown for your intended coverage. Do not trim vinyl on the device or press against the displays.

  4. Inspect movement and access

Keep hinges, screens, cameras, ports, buttons and sensors clear. Stop if anything catches as the device moves.
