Identify the controller
Check your controller version and the coverage in your order. Do not assume an Elite or older Xbox controller uses the same template.
Power off and clean
Turn the controller off and disconnect cables. Follow Microsoft's cleaning advice, avoiding moisture in controls, and let surfaces dry.
Plan the pieces
Work with clean, dry hands in good lighting. Leave unused pieces on their backing and watch the sequence before starting.
Fitting your Xbox controller skin
Use the video and supplied instructions for exact piece placement.
-
Check button openings
Compare the intended cut-outs and perimeter before pressing firmly. Do not stretch a narrow section around a control.
-
Apply a little at a time
Follow the backing-removal method shown. Smooth progressively and avoid repeatedly lifting or handling the adhesive.
-
Finish curved grips
Use gentle hairdryer warmth only where instructed. Never use a heat gun or make the controller hot.
-
Check movement and access
Keep sticks, buttons, triggers, ports and battery-compartment access clear. Nothing should rub or restrict normal movement.
