Clean the surface, line up the first edges and apply the skin gradually. Use gentle hairdryer heat where the fitting guide recommends it for curves or corners.
A skin can cover existing cosmetic marks and help limit new scuffs on the covered areas. It won't repair a damaged surface or protect your laptop from a drop.

How do I find the right laptop skin?
Check your laptop's exact manufacturer, model number, screen size and generation before ordering. Our Dell XPS, Surface and MacBook guides can help you identify it.
Do laptop skins help prevent scratches?
Yes. They can help reduce everyday scuffs and cosmetic scratches on the surfaces they cover. They are not a replacement for a protective hard case against drops or impacts.
Can a vinyl skin cover existing marks?
A suitable skin can conceal cosmetic scuffs on the area it covers, but it won't repair damage, dents or a failing surface finish.
Will a skin block cooling vents or ports?
Compatible skins are cut for the selected device and should not cover its functional vents or ports. Always follow the model-specific fitting guide.
Can I combine different laptop skin finishes?
Where separate compatible parts are offered, our live product customiser lets you choose their colours and textures individually. Available options differ by model.
Do you make standard matt skins?
We offer Textured Matt finishes rather than a standard smooth matt skin. Other available styles include carbon fibre, leather, wood, brushed metal and printed designs.
Can I remove a laptop skin later?
Our vinyl skins are designed to be removable with care. Gently warm the skin when appropriate, peel slowly and follow the fitting or removal guidance for your device finish.
Are XtremeSkins made in the UK?
Yes. We're a family-run UK manufacturer and have been designing and cutting our own vinyl skins in Britain since 2013. We also ship internationally.
